You need to find someone you feel comfortable trusting with your words, and I need to see if I can give those words the justice they deserve.
I offer free sample edits of up to 1,000 words. I do this so that we can determine our compatibility.
The sample edit is a way to help you:
- Decide if you are choosing the right level of editing
- Answer any questions you might have
- Make an informed decision if you like the style of editing I provide
- Decide whether you think it’s worth spending the money on the service.
When asking for a sample edit for developmental editing please take in to consideration that this is to give you an example of how I work. Comments made during the sample edit may change later due to the nature of a developmental edit. A developmental edit considers the entirety of the manuscript and how it functions as a whole. Until I have read the manuscript as a whole I cannot accurately give thorough feedback.
If you like what I do but, upon receiving your no obligation quote, perhaps can’t afford a full developmental edit or manuscript critique, feel free to get in touch. I can also focus on just one or two specific areas of your novel that you might be struggling with and tailor a developmental edit or manuscript critique to your needs and budget.
For no obligation quotes, if you haven’t requested a free sample edit, I still ask to see a sample of your work (preferably from the middle of your manuscript, as early chapters are usually heavily revised and often don’t reflect the overall draft). This helps me gauge the complexity and the time needed for your project, so I can then provide you with a more accurate quote.
I aim to return your sample edit within 3 working days alongside a no-obligation quote and approximate timeframe.
I look forward to hearing from you.
