This is the first step in the editing process which focuses on big picture components such as story, plot, characterisation, structure and tension.
Similar to developmental editing, this looks at all the same big picture components. Feedback will be provided as only an editorial report.
A great starting point for those new to developmental editing, this mini-edit (up to 10,000 words) helps identify key issues early in your manuscript.
The final polish before publishing – removing distractions, checking details, and delivering a human touch beyond AI.
My fees are based on The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading’s (CIEP) suggested minimum rates.
Background
A former professional ballet dancer, I have a keen eye for detail, rhythm and creativity. Skills I’ve now applied to ensuring clarity and consistency in written content. My editing qualifications come from The Publishing Training Centre and Liminal Pages. As part of the international writing team at The Publishing Post I research and keep up to date with all the latest publishing trends.
