Hello, my name is Briony, and I am a British certified developmental editor and proofreader. I am trained to spot errors and provide a human touch which is non-judgmental, objective and honest. A former professional ballet dancer, I have a keen eye for detail, rhythm and creativity, skills now applied to ensuring clarity and consistency in written content.

My editing qualifications come from The Publishing Training Centre for Essential Grammar, Essential Proofreading, and from Liminal Pages for Developmental Editing: Fiction Theory (tutored) and Developmental Editing: In Practice (tutored).

I am a member of the CIEP (The Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading) and abide by their code of conduct. I love to learn and am committed to continued professional development.

I am a writer for The Publishing Post, part of the international team, looking at trends and successes happening world-wide in publishing.

Handing over your words to someone else can be an extremely daunting prospect, however, I will always respect your voice, your words and help you create the effect that you intend with a constructive approach.

I started The Editorial Space to offer writers a welcoming, judgment-free, safe space to explore editing and publishing, regardless of their questions or budget.

My specialisms are in fantasy, romantasy, romance, (including dark romance and all levels of spice) sci-fi, YA (young adult) and NA (New Adult) but I am open to discuss other projects.
